Meet The Horses
There are currently 16 horses living at QCF.
ON THE ROX (ROXY) is a 2003 bay 15hh arabian morgan cross owned by QCF. She is a popular lesson horse that is sweet and spicy all rolled into one! She can be a bit lazy in the ring but usually when she is out on the trail or cross country field she becomes quite energetic. She has a springy trot and loves peppermints, especially pink ones! She LOVES to be groomed and fussed over.
SULLIVAN (SULLY) is a gray 2003 15hh percheron arabian cross owned by QCF. We got him summer 2010 as a project horse that had very little handling. He is doing well in his training and is very personable and cute. He started in the lesson program in December with the more experienced students and is doing great! He thinks the more attention he gets, the better! He will soon be started over fences.
PENNY LANE (PENNY) is a bay 1991 15.1hh appendix quarter horse mare owned by QCF. She is an absolutely wonderful girl who has taught many students how to ride. You can't really find a lesson horse that does their job better than Penny. She is worth her weight in gold. Penny has been at QCF the longest of all the lesson horses. She has the perfect lesson horse personality... kind, well trained and quiet but makes you work for what you get! She is great to work around and loves to be groomed and have lots of treats! She has definitely earned them, so we don't mind if she gets a few extras! Penny is great for all levels of riders.
PANZER (PAN) is a beautiful dark bay 1996 16hh clydesdale quarter horse cross. He is everyone's big teddy bear and wins the best snuggler award. He came here as an extremely green trail/cart horse in the late summer of 2008 and is now a popular lesson horse. He has been a great teacher for the more advanced students. He loves to do dressage and small jumps. Panzer has recently been purchased by Tara Stewart, who has been riding at QCF for a few years. He will also continue to be used in lessons by all his favorite riders.
JACK-BE-NIMBLE (JACK) is a gorgeous dun 15.3hh 1994 appendix quarter horse who is is owned by Alexa Nadeau who bought him in 2009. Jack is also part of the riding lesson program and is a wonderful, kind and patient horse to learn on. He is extremely well trained and tries so hard to please his rider. Like most horses, Jack LOVES his carrots and apples! Jack is perfect to learn the basics on.
MONTANA SUNRISE (MONTANA) is a 15.1hh 1994 liver chestnut quarter horse appaloosa cross mare with a star, snip and 4 white socks. She is owned by Anna Evans who does a little bit of everything with her. They really are the perfect pair and have such a strong bond. Montana is an exceptionally brave trail horse and often goes out with green horses who are in need a fearless leader.
PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS (SMILEY) is a 15.1 1/2 2000 clydesdale/saddlebred/appaloosa bay gelding owned by Jane Czank. Smiley has had experience in quite a few different areas of riding from eventing to cattle penning to trail rides to parades! He is a very versatile and good natured boy. He is used in the lesson program and is an extremely patient teacher for all his students. He loves to be groomed and enjoys all sorts of treats, especially bananas! Smiley is great for all levels of riders.
HADLEY is an adorable 14.3hh 2002 Newfoundland pony/quarter horse/percheron buckskin gelding with personality plus owned by Kelly. He is an extremely smart little guy with tons of energy. He is the energizer bunny that keeps going strong! He loves going out adventuring on trails and jumping. He is the leader of the herd and does a great job keeping everyone in line. He is a very friendly and funny boy and one of the first to come and greet you out in the field. He does not miss a thing!
TAYLAN is a beautiful 15.1 1/2 2004 Canadian Sport Horse bay mare. owned by Kelly. Her dam is Quiet Company, Kelly's old show jumper whom the farm is named after. She takes after her mom in many ways and is a very fun girl to ride. She loves to jump and go out hacking. Taylan definitely has a mind of her own and can be very opinionated at times, but can also be the sweetest girl around once you get to know her.
MYSTICAL LIGHT (MISTY) is a pretty 14hh gray 1994 welsh pony arabian cross mare owned by QCF. She is a sensitive and sweet pony that jumps beautifully and is nice mover. She is fun to ride and very willing and honest to the fences. Misty is good with all levels of riders. Misty's other job is being a babysitter for the young horses, Bella and Gala, which she is great at!
FANJENS REE ZULT (FANJEE) and KNOLLRIDGE LEGEND (LEGEND) are 1997 appaloosas owned by Jessica Boyd. Jess has owned Fanjee for quite a while now and has done a little bit of everything with her. Legend is a recent purchase that is currently in training with Jess as he is quite green. He is coming along well! Both are great horses with lots of color!
CURTAIN CALL (MAC) is a handsome 1989 16hh liver chestnut thoroughbred gelding. He is owned by Laurie Cavicchi who recently purchased him as her first horse. Mac is quite a well known horse in the maritimes. He has had quite a bit of experience showing in hunter and dressage. Mac is used part time in the lesson program. He is extremely level headed and really knows his stuff so is great to learn on. The picture below is of Laurie trying Mac out for the very first time!
ELLAZARMA (BELLA) is 2009 Dutch Warmblood owned by Kelly. Bella is a very smart, sensitive and sweet girl with lots of energy. She and her best buddy Gala are the youngest of the horses at QCF. Bella's sire Concorde was an international jumper and has had many offspring compete successfully at the Grand Prix level. She is a playful girl and often romps around with her buds. She enjoys being worked with and catches on to everything very quickly!

GALENA (GALA) is a 2009 percheron throughbred cross. Her dam is a big black percheron named Wilma that stands a massive 18.1hh. Her sire is GF's Fast n' Fancy who is a TB with quite a few offspring competing successfully as hunters around the maritimes. Gala is an extremely bold and curious girl. She likes almost anything for a treat and will follow you around like a puppy. Gala is owned by Jane Czank.
OLIVER SUDDEN (OLLIE) is a 2005 13.3 1/2hh paint arabian cross gelding owned by Siobhan Belsher. He is an adorable little guy that you can't help but love. He has one partially blue eye and lots of flashy pinto markings. He is a pretty mellow pony, although, like most ponies, he does have a spunky side that comes out once and a while! He is very playful and can often be found in the pasture romping around with his buddies.
